What do we all need, but lack?

God’s word says:

Because of the increase of wickedness, the LOVE of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm (in the Lord) to the end will be saved. (Mathew 24 v12,13)

Anyone who LOVES his father or mother more than ME is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me, and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. (Mathew 10v37-39)

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not LOVE, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not LOVE, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not LOVE, I gain nothing.

LOVE is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. LOVE does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes always persevere. LOVE NEVER FAILS… (1 Corinthians 13v1-8)

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to LOVE one another, for he who loves his fellow man has fulfilled the law. The commandments-“do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet”, and whatever other commandments there may be, are summed up in this one rule: “LOVE your neighbour (everyone) as yourself”. LOVE does no harm to its neighbour. Therefore, LOVE is the fulfilment of the law. (Romans 13v8-10. See also, Mathew 22v36-40)

And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of LIGHT. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery (indulgence in, or prevalence of sensual habits), not in dissention (discord arising from difference in opinion), and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. (Romans 13v11-14)

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1v9-11)

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the LOVE of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all, in Jesus Name. Amen.
