Are you hearing what the spirit is saying?

God’s Word says:

“I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29v11-13)

Consider it pure joy, my brothers/sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Blessed is the man/woman who perseveres under trial, because when he/she has stood the test, he/she will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

My dear brothers/sisters, take note of this:  Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for a person’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, and humbly accept the Word planted in you, which can save you.

Do not merely listen to the Word and so deceive yourselves. Do what is says! Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like a man/woman who looks at his/her face in a mirror and, after looking at themselves, goes away and immediately forgets what he/she looks like. But the person who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he/she has heard, but doing it – he/she will be blessed in what they do.

If anyone considers themselves religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on their tongue, they deceive themselves and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (James 1v2-4; v12; v19-27)

Wake up! Strengthen what remains, and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my /our God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it and repent, in Jesus name. But if you do not wake up I (Jesus), will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. They who have an ear, let them hear what the Spirit says to them. (Revelation 3v2, 3)
